What is DV stream

What's the difference between DV stream and QT movie with the option DV-PAL. When I export my file in DV stream the quality is much better than with the other option.

The only difference is that a QT movie is a wrapper/container around the movie file. This movie file may or may not be a DV stream.

A DV Stream doesn't have this wrapper/container.

QT Player may treat them differently in terms of playback options. Do you have QT Pro? If you have, you can enable High Quality for both files.

There is usually NO reason to export a DV file from iMovie. So, what do you want to do?

Wel I make small HD films that take about 1 min 20 long. I give those films to people so they can watch them at there home. But not everyone has a Mac. When I use Full Q it is in AIC and that does not work in QT on a PC, only with a MAC. So when there is .dv ore .mov behind there is no problem. But when I export the file to QT.mov DV-PAL there is a great difference between de AIC movie (HD). The nicest results a got with DV-stream. So thats was my problem that the few people with a PC can play my films in the best quality.

I have been on that site. The problem is that you are losing all the nice pictures you have with HD. The real problem is dat when you export in full qualitiy the file has .mov but when you open QT pro then de video is AIC. Funny as it is, you cannot open that video in QT fore PC. It only works in QT with a MAC. We try this out in a Apple store. I tried this with the PC of my daughter but the film stay's blank, so there no decoder in this version of the free QT.
