locked out of my own phone
i've been locked out of my own phone because of an "update". what do i do. i tried everything

What do you mean 'locked out' ? What are you seeing on the phone's screen ? If it's on the activation lock screen type in the id and password of the account that it's locked to, if you can't remember your id : If you forgot your Apple ID - Apple Support
and/or the account's password : If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
