Issue with full screen video: difficult to fast forward due to location of home bar

when watching full screen videos, the fast forward/rewind bar is in the same spot as the home bar (or home “button”). As a result, if I try to fast forward a video, I hit the home bar instead, which leads to exiting full screen mode. It’s pretty inconvenient. Anyone know how to hide the home bar?

If you see the photo, if I try to grab the white dot, I touch the black home bar instead. And that kicks me out of full screen mode

The second photo shows what happens when I try to fast forward/rewind - the full screen video moves. After that I get kicked out of full screen mode.
