Well I am getting Verizon to replace mine. Granted I guess its certified "like new" lol. I figure Ill turn it on and take some pictures prior to wiping my phone and sending my original one back. If the new one takes better images at least I know its bad camera sensors in some. Otherwise I guess we are stuck with terrible images. Its sad they want to put this up against a Note 9 and the likes. This phone doesnt stand a chance. My wife's phone hands down takes better images.
Yeah I just got this phone for Christmas and I think I’ll be trying to get my 8 plus back. Snapchat is horrible on the XS Max and the camera isn’t great in low light compared to my old phone. I also feel like my battery was much better.
Replacement came in and it was the same way. So I sent the replacement back to Verizon. No since in sending my phone back if they both do the same crap. So sad this is such a terrible camera and they arent saying anything about it to fix it.
Hi folks. I have this problem too and did quite a lot of troubleshooting. I compared other camera apps. I was noticing they look better. I stumbled on the fact the other apps use JPEG vs. Apples HEIC format. Then I did some digging and determined that by default the XS iPhone is HEIC (high efficiency) by default. This can be changed in Settings > Camera > Formats > Most Compatible. I changed to this setting and I see a dramatic improvement in my photos. Give it a try. Cheers, Jay
Yes, I have regrets too. My iPhone 7 Plus took PERFECT pics. But changing to JPEG has improved a “splotchy” issue I was seeing especially at low light. Before giving up hope, maybe try another camera app and compare. Cheers, Jay
I tried Lightroom, which I had hoped would fix the issue, but doesn't.
I'm actually looking at point-and-shoot cameras, that will auto-upload to my cloud account, which, of course, is a complete regression as far as device consolidation.
You might also want to try taking your phone to the Apple Store and have it looked at. It should be under warranty since it’s the latest iPhone. I have read things on the web saying that restoring their iPhone (surprisingly) fixed the issue. Maybe they will suggest that. At the very least Apple should know of the issues people are having. For me, I think my iPhone is now working reasonably okay (but not great). I think either the hardware or software are inferior on the XS and fear it won’t be addressed until the next gen. However, this is enough of a deal breaker for me that I will be considering others (maybe Google) for my next device.
Can i show you a picture to make sure
Of course, ensure the lens is clear and there is the correct amount of light. Just take a picture of any still object.
Well I’m still objects it looks good but at night when I take a picture in my room it looks like pixels
Have you gotten it fixed ? I have this problem too.
This isn’t true. In my experience pictures in very decent lightings are really muddy and noisy. Something seriously wrong with the post processing or hardware itself.
my camera is doing the same things! has anyones gotten better? & is there a way to fix this? is there an update that can fix photo quality?
No dude, i’m still having this issue... This weekend i’m going to the store to let them check my phone. I will update.
I got the Xs max today and I am having this issue... very disappointing. Thinking about returning it and just going back to my 7+
should my iphone xs max camera look blurry?
