Reinstalling OS X-10.5 -without losses, (again)

Please restate the technical issues and procedures for reclaiming full functionality AFTER reinstalling the original OS boot disc (10.5.1) on a Mac PPC. I was able to import USER settings (from cloned drive having the same MAIN user name, but it's of limited size and functionality.)

In this application I am the sole administrator. But, I need our employees to have complete access to the Address Book (client base) the Mac eMail, (client comm.) the iTunes, (massive user library,) and the Media production apps, including CS4, iMovie, artsy fonts, etc.

A new folder now appears on the desktop following an alert that some (1) of the 'Admin' user settings could not be imported and to be sure I had royally gimped permissions while trying to unlock everything from the users pref. screenTitle: Basesystem.pkg.1550dnpy1

The other go to folder for retrieving critical settings is titled Prenvious Systems. By trial and error I've nearly figured out how to rebuild anew. But I still haven't been told what I can delete in what order, thus I'm knee deep in back-ups and cloned versions. And, yes, I know there is no point in not buying a Mac made to run High Sierra. We've been all over that last week at my local Apple Store.

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Gee, I could have had an Intel*

Yes, but the improper use of migration assistant has caused me to loose nearly all the most precious data I have. So it's not a game of 'best case' scenarios, but one of explaining the dire consequences of doing things wrong. Advice like don't forget, if you have a parallel system folder it could choose to replace the user settings with an inferior not as up to date, or in my case as OLD a date as possible.

So, I have a fresh install and a very thin user set of files, now what?

AWesome, dude! I've got Address book and Mail. Now I have to drag the music from a back up drive and reinstall, or open iTunes 9.1 ..The choice to update the system and apply the patches, should this be done in succinct order BEFORE messing with the user's prefs, settings, apps, etc. Or is it best to do the housekeeping and let the installer clean up any messy errors as it reassembles the system folder?

Thanks, from a frustrated iPad user!!!

I keep getting logged out and loosing my entire post. Not sure of this iPads version but it is not compatible with the Apple site. Won't remember me or accept pass update, etc. too much trouble without a real keyboard.

Maybe I'll log in from something else. Pretty sure I am good for now, can replicate from matched pairs on the eMac.
