Mojave installer reports "This volume is not a supported Core Storage configuration."

I think the problem is some Samsung SSD drives do not report themselves as such. This an EVO drive?

Not sure what you can do about it.

I'm reporting what I have seen on the communities numerous times. How do you think I knew to ask if it was an EVO drive?

I spent three hours today surfing the net for answers and found nothing. Nothing from Apple. I sent an email to a connected tech journalist in hopes he tries to find answers.

It’s definitely an APFS issue. The installer is trying to convert the drive from HFS+. APFS is required for 10.14.

My fusion drive was not encrypted

Booted from USB installer disk. Then reformatted fusion partition to APFS then installed Mojave. WORKED!!! Then restored from Time Machine.

What Mac are you trying to install too? Did booting from USB Mojave then formatting the fusion drive to APFS work?

Worked very well on Imac Late 2013 fusion with a new Samsung 460 Evo. SSD 2 tb.
