After upgrade to MacOS Mojave, I cannot login or connect to App Store.

I am using the latest MacBook Pro 2018 version. After upgrade to MacOS Mojave, I cannot sign out, login App Store or View my account. It always show "Cannot Connect to App Store". I also upgrade my iMac to MacOS Mojave, my iMac does not have this issue.

How can I fix this issue on my 2018 MacBook Pro?

Thank you

I experienced this problem after a fresh install of Mojave on a MBP (15"/2016).

After running through a lot of troubleshooting tips from this thread nothing helped.

My solution was to log out of iCloud in system preferences, reboot and then log in to iCloud again.

Beforehand (during the fresh install of Mojave) I deactivated iCloud Drive, Stocks app and some other stuff I don't need in the iCloud system preferences. I think this was what caused the problem.

My problem was a corrupt Accounts4.sqlite file in ~/Library/Accounts. The following steps fixed the issue for me:

  1. Go to Finder
  2. From the menu, click Go -> Go to Folder...
  3. Type: ~/Library/Accounts
  4. Create a backup folder: Control-Mouse click -> New Folder, name the folder backup
  5. Move all Accounts4 files to the backup folder
  6. Log out and then log back in
  7. Open App Store

I have a similar problem since a few days. I cannot connect to the App Store.

Also in system preferences (Mojave) the text says: Unable to check for updates.

In the App Store:

The store menu item is no longer working (no drop down menu) and on the left there is not even text!

(see below).

I exhausted all possibilities I found here or on the internet. (Refreshing certificates, deleting various stuff, even restoring from time machine: versions that worked previously do apparently no longer work.) Even with a new account or with safe boot the same problem.

In console there is now a number of errors (see list of events when starting app store, filtered for "app store" in the error log)

Please let me know, if someone has a novel idea:

So, in my situation, I have a brand new MacBook Air Retina Display. It came brand new with Mojave 10.14.2 and at first boot up, I had the issue of not being able to Sign In to the Apple Store, but was able to sign into all other things like iCloud Drive and iTunes. So, my experience was not from an upgrade, but a brand new computer boot up; not sure if that is relevant or not.

I went thru this thread, any many others, and tried all of them to no avail. The deleting certian "com.apple.appstore", folders, messing with the Trust Settings folder, etc. All of them.

What did finally seem to work for me, which by the way is now after I have updated to Mojave 10.14.3 (I thought that might resolve the issue as many of you probably hoped too), was using AppCleaner.

I have version 3.5.

Launch App Cleaner and then drag and drop the "App Store.app" onto the window. If it gives you an error prompt, just open the App Cleaner Preferences and uncheck the box next to "Protect default OS X apps" and then try it again.

Once successful, it will show all of the components associated with the App Store.app.

Select all of them EXCEPT for the App Store.app and the folder /Library/Application Support. For me, they were the first two in the list. Do Not delete those.

After that, I restarted and actually performed an install of Mojave 10.14.3 over my existing one, but I did not erase or delete anything.

When I completed the installation and restarted, I was able to Sign in "FINALLY" to the App Store.

Someone may want to test whether a reinstall is needed after removing the files. I did not try that. I just went straight to the reinstallation. I hope this works for some of you.

Thanks so much Checkyorself289!!

Finally, after spending 3 days digging into all forums finally I could successfully login into App Store just following the AppCleaner directions without re-installing the app!!

Important note: i had to follow the procedure twice since first time, after rebooting and opening AppStore, instead of logging in into appstore, I clicked one app update and same problem again....that was when i run again the appcleaner, rebooted, then logged in as first action after opening the AppStore App and worked well!!! So be sure your follow exactly these steps: 1)AppCleaner 2)reboot 3)open AppStore App 4)Log-ing 5) start using!!!

Not sure what is happening with Apple but this is not really acceptable.....

After upgrade to MacOS Mojave, I cannot login or connect to App Store.
