MacBook Pro doesn't sleep when lid closed after updating to Mojave 10.14

Hi everybody,

I have MacBook Pro 13 (early 2015) and I have updated today to Mojave 10.14. After doing this, the Macbook is not going sleep anymore when I close the lid. I have checked the Energy settings in the Preferences and it seems fine. I have uninstalled Amphetamine, just to be sure that it is not caused by some incompatibility with the new macos. I have also deactivated various apps running in the background and I have reseted SMC and NVPRAM but nothing has helped.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Jan

It also worked for me (MacBook Pro 13" retina late 2013).

After deleting DGVirtualDisplay.kext (~/Library/Extensions/DGVirtualDisplay.kext) and restarting my mac, it goes into sleep mode perfectly.

DGVirtualDisplay.kext seems to be a file for app named Twomon PC Program.

It's also called TwomonUSB and it's an application for dual monitors using tablets.

Perhaps other apps for dual monitors might also cause this problem.

Everyone, it seems earlier in this conversation the problem was solved by one of the commenting users already, his solution worked for me as well (on a mid-2012 13" MBP which has an SSD for the system), try this:

The same problem too. I solved the problem by deleting the file below.

DGVirtualDisplay.kext

I could not see where this file was used. However, it goes into sleep mode.

I'm facing the same issue. Already did a complete reinstall. Older posts suggest to delete Google Account from machine. It seemed to work yesterday, but when I rebooted today it happened again that my Macbook Air (2013) would not go into sleep mode when I closed the lid.

However, I logged out and in again and sleep seems to work. Maybe you can use this as a workaround until we get a fix.

After the upgrade to 10.14.3 i noticed a little improvement with sleep issue on my MBP Retina.

when i quickly close the lid, after 2 sec the laptop wakes up (with the lid closed). if i close the lid slowly it remains in sleep mode (even if it's connected with the charger). did anybody try this?

Hope this trick will help those who had the sleep/wake issue.

You are close to capacity on your 425 GB partition. You should have at least 15% free.

org.pqrs.karabiner.karabiner_grabber.plist

looks like malware, and anyconnect should only be used if you are allowing other people remote access to your machine.

Filepane helper sounds like GUI modification tool. I would not use such tools.

And I would clear all startup items from your system preferences account to ensure the problem is not happening with them. Install them back one at a time once you verify each one is not to blame. Isolate the problem.

As a temporary fix i switched back to High Sierra. Untill the apple geniuses fix this OSX issue i will keep using sierra.

i don't think is our "job" (as end users) to fix their os issues, or other hardware/software issues. we pay a quite big amount of money on apple product and we expect to be the best quality (at last me i'm expecting this).
