Mail 12.0 on Mac not showing Reply or Forward icons

Since upgrading to Mojave, I notice that when I reply to or forward an email, the little icon does not appear to the left of the email, as it used to. I've noticed that quitting Mail and restarting it causes the icons to display properly.

Is anyone else seeing this?

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)
