facebook upload black lines

Hi.

I'm using my new iPhone Xs MAX 512.

When I select photos from my photo album and tell it to post to Facebook I'm getting black lines in the photos (look in the right photo at the door in the background to see the lines)

If I post the pictures DIRECTLY inside the Facebook app it works fine.

Who do I report this to? Apple? Facebook?

There’s two solutions to this I found after having the same issue with the lines:

1) make sure the sharing photos with Facebook privacy feature is enabled for your Facebook app via your iPhone. (You can upload pics from your gallery to the app regardless if this feature is on or not) which causes the lines for my photos. Go to settings - privacy - photos - Facebook - select read and write option. Once this is on, uploading from the gallery does fine without the lines there anymore.

2) Go to Facebook.com on your safari (instead of the app) and upload pics that way bypassing the line problem as well.

Black lines here as well. Iphone 7 and updated. My fix as some already has written, to upload from Facebook, not from gallery on phone, but I also found out, if I upload a photo after editing it, no black lines, even when uploaded from gallery to Facebook. After editing a photo on Iphone, it converts into jpg, not Apples HEIC-format. Makes me wonder if the real problem is HEIC.. Therefore I´ve turned off the HEIC-savings function, all photos from now on are saved as jpg (too bad - less storage).

Thanks for posting! I am having this exact same problem. Unfortunately, I had not made the correlation with when/how they had lines. vs. no lines, so I even as recent as this weekend uploaded beautiful photos of my first baby on Santa's lap .... all with lines through them! 😟 Now of course I could delete this post and re-upload, but 100+ people already "liked" it, and the individual photos and made comments. So you know how it is ... would rather not "start over", and get no love/support since everyone thinks they already saw it! It's a bummer. 😟

Also have this problem uploading pictures from the ios photo app on iphone to facebook you get these black lines. Strange thing is, older photos i have made with my iphone 6 don't have this problem. Started with photos on iphone 7. It does not always happen on every picture. Someone has already a solution for this? Problem with the facebook app?
