Iphone XS Max wifi calling issues

So I think there is no WiFi calling icon on the new IPhones X and above? I turned my phone on airplane mode with WiFi on and tried to make a call with WiFi and it worked even though the WiFi calling icon was not on my phone.

As stated in point number 3 under "Get Help":

"Not all Wi-Fi networks work with Wi-Fi calling."

I am actuallly having this exact same problem. I had the iPhone 7 Plus and my WiFi calling worked perfectly fine while I was at work. Once I got the iPhone xs a few weeks ago it hasn’t worked at all. I’ve talked to Verizon and apple and no one seems to know why it won’t work. Other people I work with use the WiFi calling there with no issues. It’s very frustrating.

I am facing similar issue with my home Wifi. I have Google WiFi router at home. I have two devices with same iOS versions: iPhone 7 and iPhone XS Max. 7 has no issue connecting to WiFi calling (ATT Wifi symbol shows up correctly and consistently on top left corner). However, with XS Max, it rarely connects to WiFi calling mode. I periodically check whether it is in WiFi calling mode or not by pulling the menu from top right corner.

As regards to Apple page on WiFi calling support, where is says that WiFi calling will not work on some WiFi network, that is very useless help page. Without providing any details on which type of WiFi has issues, users/readers of the page can’t really do any thing with it.

I suspect it may be XS Max device issue ... sigh

I am facing the same issue with WiFi calling not working on my iPhone XS Max. My sons iPhone 7plus works great on the same networks as does my wife’s iPhone XR. Very frustrating and apple support has not been able to help. I have a Genius Bar appointment Wednesday, but unfortunately I am traveling for the holidays in a bad cell reception area so missing tons of work calls.
