Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Accidentally, I clicked on www.golfchanel.com and clicked on a component on that site. It claims to be a "security check" and it loaded a couple of programs. I believe "AnySearch... would appear on my browser at startup.
Now, about four times a day I see a "enter password, Apple want to make changes to your system" window. Thoughts?

Thank you and your advise is well received. I ended up deleting FireFox, reviewing recent downloads, checked for new apps, (which did exist), and upgrading to Mohave. This seems to have resolved the issue.
