iOS 12 draining the battery
Anybody have battery draining issue on iOS 12 ????
Anybody have battery draining issue on iOS 12 ????
I have an 2 years old iPhone 7 (normal one, not Plus) and with iOS 11 and 12 (even 12.1) the battery drains in 3-4 hrs and need to recharge 3 times a day (or more). That was until last week that I went to a Premium Reseller (in my country we don't have official Apple Stores) and do a battery change. The phone with the new battery last 8 or more hours, and only charges once in a day! So the solution for me was the battery replacement. Also, I was noticing that my battery gets hot for the 2 years that I bought the phone until the replacement. The new one doesn't do that!
I have ipad air2 on 12.01 and in the time it has taken me to sign in and send this message my battery has lost 4% with nothing else active. Really disappointing delivery from Apple this time again !!!
Even after updating to version 12.0.1, my iPhone 5s continues to drain rapidly. The draining isn't quite as fast as when it was running 12.0. This morning I opened Preferences to check over some settings. The battery drained from 95% to 75% in approximately 15 minutes.
This is not a very good answer. While I realize new functionality can increase the drain on the battery, this change has been dramatic. If the upgrade is going to decrease the efficiency of my phone so much, the upgrade should not have been recommended for my phone.
The battery power decreases so fast I can watch the power decrease on my 6s since the update to 12.0.1. It is also very slow in connecting to web links from 1 site to another. Like if I’m reading a summary is a news story in the Washington Post and click the link to go to the full story on Fox News.
I did the 12.1 . It’s definitely not what it used to be. , but better than it was . I can usually run all day ( at work ) still at about 80% when I get home. Day off today and at 2pm 68%. So NOT happy !
I have the same phone. I have never had a battery issue. But for some reason. Now I can’t even talk on my phone longer then 15 20 minutes before the battery dies. Before anyone tells me that it’s my battery health. Don’t. Because I know my phone and I know I could be on my phone all day and not have an issue until I installed iOS 12. I also know that Apple just got into trouble for doing this before to force people to upgrade phones. So please fix the problem and quit trying to convenience people that they have bad phones or phone battery’s.
With iOS 12 and my iPad Air, the battery is draining so, so fast. Ever since iOS 11 drainage is fast and faster. Often need to charge 2x day even light use. I’ve done all the obvious things but to no avail!
Well im using an Ipad 2 .....having updated to this a very short while ago, theres no duration of stored power ..... ...
My Ipad was almost fully charged at 8.40 pm this eve ....
Cue just after midnight with no more than the calendar , Facebook manager and FB app open, it was then down to a mere 3 as in yes THREE PERCENT % CHARGE
i went to bed with it fully charged last night..by morning , FLAT !
This didnt ever happen until this software update went in !
The software update has been in more than a few days, an the '' indexing '' is a joke as a suggestion....
clearly reloads etc etc serve no purpose other than to take up time of the user ...
The company is facing legal action in various parts of the world, for software deliberately depleting the usability of their products
What kind of farce is this thats being perpetually perpetrated in the name of business ?
We pay a significant amount of money for these products, which i love , but this kind of thing is so frustrating ! and simply not on !
If its deliberate, or known on release, it simply should not be tolerated !

It’s so PAINFULLY obvious it’s caused by the update.....they seem to hide behind the indexing factor...... wrong wrong wrong and very widely reported.
ive submitted my reply on a feedback request, nothing back yet.
very disgruntled customer, Android bound.
Help me out! I am having terrible issues with this! I just received my phone back from apple. I had a “no service” error and it was a know defect on some I phone 7’s so apple fixed it at no charge. I had previously replaced the battery in December and it had been working well since then. When I got my phone back from apple the receipt said they replaced my battery as well as fixed the “no service” issue. Ever since I got it back from apple the battery drains super fast!! I am barely even using the phone because I am using my old phone still. It is saying Siri is using 73% of my battery when I was sleeping and not even touching my phone. I haven’t changed any settings with Siri and never had this problem before?
I tried them , I faced the same problems in iOS 11.4 , then it seems to be fixed on iOS 11.4.1, then again im facing battery draining issue with the minimal use of my
I have a 6s Plus, battery is 100% capacity, but draining very quickly with this ew update ! Is Apple just trying to get me to buy a new phone ? I wonder sometimes !
Yes, my normally solid iPhone7 is suffering. Hoping the next version of ios12 will fix it. I'm wondering if it aligns with the charging issues on the new iPhones? 😕
I reinstalled ios 12 and it is just as bad with battery drain
I installed iOS 12 also. Before ios12 battery was fine and after it completely drains within 2 hours. Apple needs to fix this.
