How to add multiple albums to iPhone using iTunes?

IOS12, iPhone 6S Plus, iTunes 12.9 for Windows.

As you can no longer add a compilation manually without it splitting every track into a separate album - thanks Apple you incompetent clowns - I've resorted to importing selected music into the iTunes library first, and then dragging and dropping them onto the iPhone.

Which works. Go figure.

Then only problem - other than wasting hours of my time with this infuriating goose chase - is I can't find any way to select multiple albums to drag and drop. I have to do each one singularly.

Am I missing something?

No, I'm not syncing the entire folder, and please don't suggest that.
