DiskWarrior Destroyed Partition Table

I used DiskWarrior 4.4 and afterwards, I was unable to mount my Seagate 4TB external drive. It does NOT appear in Disk Utility or anywhere on PC systems. Alsoft/DiskWarrior refused to help and even misled me by saying the upgrade to their 5.x version would restore table and file access. HOWEVER, they were annoyed by my overzealous concern after 6 communiques and disdain for their customer services records error and REFUSE to sell me the ver 5.x upgrade. I bought Partition Magic, which boots to Linux, and was able to see my disk, but the programs says the partition table is gone. I can't add partition, or I lose research data and documents and about $300,000 in data. Can the new APFS file system be the problem? Are there any utilities that can non-destructively recover my data?

If your Seagate 4TB external drive is APFS formatted then DiskWarrior might not repair it since APFS support is not yet added. You can check it here https://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/highsierraapfs.html Did you mention this to their team? You said your external drive is not visible on Disk Utility? Perhaps the corruption is severe; still, you can give a shot to data recovery software. Try Stellar Data Recovery for Mac since it has support for finding lost drives on Mac. Though, I doubt if your external drive will show up? You may also try TestDisk which is a free file recovery software without GUI.

DiskWarrior 4.4 and earlier do not write to partition tables. There is no way for it to destroy it. Also, DiskWarrior does not write to your disk until you approve the repairs by clicking a button labeled Replace. This is all documented in the DiskWarrior manual.

You never said why you ran DiskWarrior in the first place. What was wrong with the disk before you ran it? You must have had some type of damage preexisting to run it. What did DiskWarrior indicate about the disk before you rebuilt it. Did you rebuild it? Did you preview the repairs as requested? What kind of damage did the DiskWarrior report that it fixed? How do you know the partition map was not already damaged? Partition map damage occurs often enough that DIskWarrior 5 repairs some types of partition map damage. That, too, is documented in the manual.

DiskWarrior has a very big following in this community. It is recommended often and I have recommended it myself.
