iPhone xs/max - dual sim China differences

Hello everyone,

Is the Chinese version of the phone different from US/European version inside of the phone?

I wonder whether Apple designed Chinese version differently regarding SIM cards. If yes, they would have to produce a number of phones using different project

Maybe it is enough to just buy a sim tray from Chinese version and insert 2 SIM cards to us/European phone and it will work?

Ideas? Please share. Thanks

The Chinese version of iPhone will have a tray where you can remove and pop-in any 2 SIM cards.

With the non-Chinese version you can only swap one SIM card. The secondary SIM card is an eSIM. Basically you have to sign up with a service provider and they will enable the eSIM on your device (you have to provide your IMEI).

Apple claims you can switch between eSIM's but that is not going to be as simple as having a tray to pop in a SIM card.

Also remember not all service providers offer eSIM. So you will have a challenge using the dual sim feature if living in a country where eSIM is not allowed.

Even in a country like India only one provider offers eSIM. Food for thought.
