Find my iPad - Apple School Manager

Why does Apple School Manager disable the Find my iPad feature? This is ridiculous, IT staff should be able to locate the device using apple's software. MDM location finding services are not on par with the capability of Apple's Find My iPad feature. Are there plans to enable this in the future? It does not distract from education and seems like Apple knows that student's will misplace or lose their devices forcing educational institutions to purchase more devices. Very frustrating that Apple decided to go this route and their reasoning for it is poor in my opinion. Find my device should be activated ASAP.
