Can't burn a CD-R AUDIO from iTunes 12 with MacBook Pro 10.13.6.

Would you please help me figure out how to burn a CD-R AUDIO from iTunes 12.8.0.150 with MacBook Pro 10.13.6., using Superdrive? I get the prompt to insert the blank disk, then see: preparing; canceling; then "The attempt to burn a disk failed. An unknown error occurred (-3)." The songs I'm trying to burn to the disk are in an iTunes playlist and were downloaded to this MacBook Pro from CDs I own and put into iTunes a few years ago.

Thanks for any guidance.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.6), Mid2015; 2.8GHZ; i7; iTunes 12.8

Put the blank in first. Right-click in the sidebar on the name of the playlist that you want to burn and use the Burn Playlist to Disc option there in preference to using File > Burn Playlist to Disc. The latter method seems unreliable. You may also want to try burning at less than maximum speed. If you get another failure I'd recommend you use erasable writeable discs until you get a satisfactory work flow.
