my new iPhone XS does not ring

I Just got a new iPhone XS I set it all up. It seemed ok but when I am receiving a call I can not hear the ring. I check the silence, it is off. I checked the volume, it is all the way up. I checked various rings, you can hear them when tested but not when receiving a call.

What is wrong??

Is your iPhone paired to any headphones? If so, the ring would only occur through there.

Is Do Not Disturb turned on? You would see a you see a crescent moon

in the status bar. Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Also, please check is if you have the notifications set to deliver quietly: Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Manage notifications

Deliver Quietly: These notifications appear in the Notification Center, but don't show up on the Lock screen, play sounds, or show a banner or badge icon.
