Phone app frozen with ios 12

I am having the same problem. It seems if I get a missed call the phone app freezes and the only way to use it again is to reset network settings or restart the phone. Talked with Apple Support and they suggested that I try a restore to reinstall IOS 12, which I have done and still having the same issues.

I can open the phone app but unable to select anything, or do anything with it. If I had the Recents opened when it froze it will sometimes show the missed call, and sometimes not.

I'm having the same issue, albeit on an iPhone 8 Plus.

If you just 'leave your phone' for several minutes I have found it is then usable again. If however you actually need to use the Phone app straight away, hard reset is the quickest way to get it working, in the short term, again.

I have a 6S-plus and it’s the same issue. I tried restoring phone settings and it worked for one day. It’s not only missed calls that triggers it. When it froze Saturday it happened right after I made a call and the next call in I couldn’t answer it. I’ve heard 12.1 is dropping soon...hopefully that will resolve the issue. What good is a phone when you can’t use the phone?!?!?! 12.0 isn’t what is was cracked up to me and I hate it! Especially now that my phone is no longer a phone.

I am still having this issue on two handsets, an Xs Max and a 6 plus. I ha e to reset the network settings to get the phone app to work. However when I reconnect to the WiFi networks it causes the freeze to occur again. I’ve checked with our providers and they can’t see why this would cause a problem so the only thing is iOS 12. Anyone else having the same issue caused by different things?

Yes still having issues with my 8 Plus, even with the most recent update (iOS 12.0.1).

Manipulating Wireless settings or attempting to look at call lists seem to lock up the phone for a few moments.

Hopefully fixed soon...

I have had this issue several times. The last one was yesterday(dec 20, 2018). My iPhone 6 is up to date. When the phone was restarted, it started spitting out several notifications and it took about a minute to settle down so that I could make calls. I have decided to migrate off of the apple ecosystem. It’s become too buggy with too frequent updates (the old Microsoft model).

It's a pretty serious bug to make it to a released version, especially as it appears to be affecting more than one model of iPhone.

I wonder if any X, XS or XR users are having the same issue?

I am having the same problem and ha e found no fix. Please post one if Apple responds.

Having the same issue with a SE. Phone app freezes and can only use the phone app after I reboot.

Correction; latest update iOS 12.1

Late reply but iPhone X having this problem now. Been like this for 2 days but can’t get rid of the issue
