It worked a tad in safe mode, but a number of the functionalities did not work due to the fact that it was in safe mode; it also performed ok in the other user account.
i just took the liberty of getting rid of all the vpn apps and disabling the ad blockers, I will report my results.

Did it work in another admin user account or the Safe Mode? Have you tried quitting Tunnelblick.app? Tried disabling the Safari extensions?
Still the same problem. But, its only pertaining to one website on any browser I try.
