certain settings are greyed out and I can't access them

I'm unable to access certain settings - they are greyed out. apple id is the main one but also face time, iMessage, background refresh can't be turned off. I have updated to ISO12 but am unsure when this problem happened. Only noticed it when I couldn't get into my apple id and then found all these other settings unaccessible. Please help

Hello robbie333,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!

I understand from your post that you are unable to access certain settings because they are grayed out. If you have forgotten your Apple ID password or username you can use this article to walk you through resetting the password and remembering the username:

If you have gained access to your Apple ID and the settings are still grayed out, you could have restrictions enabled. The following article has information about restrictions and how to disable them:

Thanks so much Chris, no I knew my Apple ID but I couldn’t get into it it

was greyed out and wouldn’t let me in. I did a full restore back to factory

and then set it up again against my iPad and then did a sync on my Mac and

the same thing happened again. So I did another full wipe back to factory

again and set it up as knew. Downloaded all y apps from cloud and had to

put in passwords for everything. It was a pain and took hours. Then I did a

sync and back up on the Mac as a new phone and it has fixed the problem. I

have no idea how it happed but it seems to be fixed now

Thanks again for you help

Cheers
