Unable to re-install Apple Mail App

I just purchased an iPhone X and did a quick phone set up using my old phone (also an iPhone X). I am unable to download the mail app from the app store, I keep receiving a "unable to install "mail" message. I have turned my phone off and back on to no avail. Any advice for how to get this installed?
