2 iPhones and Apple Watch keeps prompting to pair to new iPhone
I got a new iPhone XS today and transferred all the apps & data from the iPhone X. There is one big annoyance right now. Every time I wake up the new phone, my AppleWatch asks me if I want to pair with the new phone. It gives me exactly 2 choices: Cancel and OK. There is no NEVER or DO NOT PAIR. How can we turn this mechanism off? Can we? I want the Apple Watch to remained paired to the older iPhone X and no longer attempt to connect to the new iPhone XS. Both iPhones use the same Apple ID.
The problem is, as stated above, every time we are out and away from the old phone, when I wake up (unlock) the new phone, The watch gets an alert asking if he wants to pair his watch to the new phone.
The watch is NOT PAIRED to the new iPhone XS. So, I can’t unpair it from that phone. (When I open the watch app on the new phone it starts asking if I want to start the pairing process…. nothing is currently paired). It is STILL PAIRED to the old phone.
If I delete the watch from my Apple id, it will disappear from BOTH phones…. not the solution we would like, either.
So far the watch and the old phone are in sync. It updates when I get back to the house and the watch and old phone can chat over the WiFi here (and the red "not connected" phone at the top of the dial turns off).
