I just updated my iphone 7 with software update ios 12. When the phone restarted all the app icons have disappeared. But theyare showing in the app store and i can open them from there and play them with no lost data. How do i restore the icons to the home screen layout?

Thanks! But reset home screen only has the option to reset to default settings which is what it seems to be already. Eg. I have maps, yahoo mail, WhatsApp icons.....but I don’t have fbk or fbk mange or any of the game icons etc. If I go through the App Store I can open the app and it is the same as before the update but I can’t get those icons back into the home screen.
I have already tried connecting with usb to iTunes but iTunes does not have the App Store so syncing has no effect on apps....I can only access music/tv/music/podcasts through iTunes.....
Resetting the home screen usually fixes missing icons.

i was nervous about default, too. It worked like nothing had ever happened. All the icons are just where I had them.
