my iPhone XS doesn’t get charged when I connect it to the lightling cable at sleep mode. I have to connect it and then tap to wake the phone and that’s when it starts charging. I’ve been facing this problem since one Week. Anybody else has this issue and if so how have you guys gotten it resolved?

A closer investigation and I finally discovered that the "Raise to wake" option only solves the immediate "idle" issue. Now after a few seconds (over 30 secs, I think), the problem comes back and is not solved by any other option ("Raise to wake" or "USB Acessories"). The only option that I ended up working, was the use of a "Fast Charger" (Macbook Pro, for example). It seems to me that we'll have to wait for the iOS update.
Just try to turn off and turn on the "Raise to Wake" option. Worked for me. 😉
Try turning off "Rise to wake up". Check if this was the issue. And do a reset or wait for newer verison of iOS 12. It could fix it. And after all of this, and still nothing, than just return it!
Same issue here. Disabling//resetting Raise to wake does not solve it. Neither turning on USB accessories under FACE id
