Image Metadata Missing From Finder Preview Sidebar

I'm using Mojave on my iMac.

I have a large number of photographs taken with my DSLR camera, and I am trying to use the new Preview Sidebar in Finder to view the data from these.

However, no image metadata is showing in the sidebar - only date created and modified. The metadata is definitely in the images as I can see it using the Inspector when I open the image fully in Preview. This is both JPEG and CR2 files.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
