My old iPhone 4 and iPod 4th generation was never updated but i still want to see all of my old pictures how can i do that ?

Connect them to a computer, and copy the photos off of the devices.

You cannot use iCloud Photos on an iPhone 4 or an iPod 4 generation.
You need at least iOS 10 which cannot be installed on either of them.
Is there anyway i can back up the old pictures?
