iMac after Mohave install and Safari freezing after about 2 mins of use

iMac. After installing Mohave when using Safari after about 2 mins of use the screen is freezing. I have run disk utility first aid but that did not report anything and has made no difference.

Rebooted multiple times and same problem. My mouse arrow moves freely around the screen but no actions when hitting on any icons/apps etc.
