How get rid of right-hand part of Finder window?

Since upgrading from High Sierra to Mojave, all Finder windows appear like the one shown below, in list form (as I want) but with the extra pane on the right that shows an enlarged picture of the icon.

I've overlaid a large red "X" there, because I don't want that part.

I know that if I drag to the right the vertical separator between the list and that unwanted pane, the pane will disappear.

But what setting will get rid of it not just for this particular window, but for all Finder windows?

iMac, macOS Mojave (10.14), 4.0GHz Corei7, 32GB, 3Tb Fusion

Press "shift + command + P" or choose Hide Preview from the Finder View menu.

I see no such thing as "Show Preview Column" in the Mojave Finder's "Show Preview Column".

I'm not surprised because that's not what I said. I said "Show View Options"

You can also choose "Show View Options" and uncheck "Show Preview Column".

Sorry, I did mean "Show View Options". But what I see, and whose window I captured & posted, is not the same as what you show!

What folder were you in when you took the screen shot? Different folders have different settings.

A subfolder of ~ containing documents and aliases.
