5g compatibility for iphone XS and XR

5G launch is around the corner. is iPhone Xs and XR are 5G compatible and will support 5g ? if not, then we will have to buy again next year. with such a costly handset, how Apple is expecting people will buy again next post buying xr and xs this year. very few people buy iPhone for 10- 12 months, we pay thinking iphone has latest technology and durability but if this new phone will not work with 5g then why would people will go for this ?? why would consumer will buy old technology phone at a really high price?
