WatchOS 5.0.1 stopped recording my exercise and calories

I updated my watch two days ago (overnight automatic update) and noticed they addressed a few issues such as exercise being overly tracked and standing not being credited in the afternoon. However, since the update I am no longer getting any exercise or calories tracked, only standing is being tracked. I even went on a small bicycle ride yesterday and I am presented with no calories or time from the exercise.

I have restarted both devices!

Is anyone else experiencing this issue as well?

Hey AlexJackson.Alx2011,

Thanks for reaching out about the issue you're having with your exercising not being tracked correctly. I'll be happy to help out.

First, try these steps here to make sure your Apple Watch is correctly calibrated: Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy - Apple Support

If you're still noticing that the exercises/calories aren't being tracked correctly, go ahead and unpair the Apple Watch from the iPhone and then pair it again. When you unpair, the data will be erased from your Apple Watch but a backup is also created when unpairing. You can still make a manual backup here: Back up your Apple Watch

When you're ready, use these steps to unpair the Apple Watch: Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone

Then pair and set it up again: Set up your Apple Watch

Take care.
