How can I import a functional Excel (2011 edition) Spreadsheet into Numbers, preserving the editability and functionality?
MacBook Air, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)
I think that will do it. I have never used Numbers. I assumed Excel would have an "import from" or "save as"function of some sort that would do want I want.
Never occurred to me to start at Numbers, then do "Import from".
Now its just getting used to the functions , tool bar, etc.
My data base needs are pretty simple so should be ok.

In Numbers have you tried File > Open followed by navigating to the Excel file?
Often Excel files work reasonably well after being imported into Numbers that way.
