I think that will do it. I have never used Numbers. I assumed Excel would have an "import from" or "save as"function of some sort that would do want I want.

Never occurred to me to start at Numbers, then do "Import from".

Now its just getting used to the functions , tool bar, etc.

My data base needs are pretty simple so should be ok.
