I am getting an update request from Malwarebytes and I am not sure that I need Malwarebytes or how it got on my computer? What should I do? Update or get rid of it?

Malwarebytes is IMHO one of the very few legitmate utilites for OS X I run. Do you need it? Maybe, if your broweser is running strangly it's a good tool to check for Adware and if it's found you can remove it.
