Animating in Keynote

I want to animate a graphic on top of a background to appear, remain for 10 seconds, then disappear, and reappear after 10 seconds, and repeat until stopped. I tried blink and pulse, and they won't do it. Other than set up a Build In/Build Out pair and repeat it, I'm at a loss.

Thanks for the help!

Keynote is unable to loop objects with animations, or slides within a presentation.

A Workaround is:

  • Create a presentation with one slide using the objects to be animated, with the appropriate animation, export a Movie (File > Export > Movie)
  • add the movie to Keynote set to loop in: Format > Movie > in the Repeat dropdown menu, select loop
  • add the remaining slides to the presentation

The animations will loop until a mouse click or spacebar is pressed which will go onto the next slide.
