Best way to "migrate" Logic with Lots of Plugins?

I'm guessing this has been asked before, but a quick search for "migrate" didn't find what I wanted. Very simply put, what is the best way to 'move' my Logic setup to a new Mac? I have tons of plug-ins from at least 30 manufacturers (UAD, Waves, IK Multimedia, Slate, Spectrasonics, etc). I'm aware of Apple's "migrate" feature, but many of the software titles require authorizations, which I'm unsure will transfer that simply. And I can't bear to imagine the sheer time it would take to individually re-install each plugin, one by one....

Btw, if it matters, I'm upgrading from a Mac Pro 2.26GHz (8-core) to Mac Pro 3.5GHz (2013).

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), null

No doubt the best way is to re-install plugins from scratch. This ensures you have the latest compatible versions, & means you can test plugins one by one to ensure stability. It’s also a good opportunity to re-evaluate which plugins you really use, & which ones are gathering virtual dust.

Although not everyone’s a fan of ilok, e-licenser Waves Central etc. I much prefer my authorisations not being tied to my computer, as despite my best efforts there always seems to be one plugin or program that I forget to de-authorise!

Yes re-installing everything from scratch takes a while, (even with a good internet connection), but if you have the luxury of having the old & new computer side by side, it makes the process of checking everything a lot simpler.

As always, a backup (or two) should be considered mandatory… 😉

If you move software from one Mac to another, you might have to reactivate some of the plugins. For example, in my own experience, restoring the system from Time Machine backup (even to the same Mac with macOS freshly reinstalled) removes authorization and activation information. Better double-check with the plugin manufacturers, before you proceed with the big move. Obviously, reactivation is less painful than reinstalling everything from scratch.
