Sorry that's not what I asked about at all. I don't just want to move a file from my iphone to my macbook. I want to use the continuity features whereby you can be in an app like Finder or Pages and select "Import from iPhone or iPad" and it automatically enables your phone or iPad camera, you take a picture with that, and it shows up in your application on the Macbook.

Problem solved (at least for me)

I was having the same issue. I made sure that I had Bluetooth turned on both devices, still had the options grayed out.

The step I was missing was to go into the Bluetooth setting on my iPhone and pair it with my Macbook Pro. Then it worked like a charm!

I am trying to use this same feature in MacOS Mojave with the latest update on a MacBook Air 11'' 2015 model, as well as with the iPhone 8 64GB iOS 12. Any suggestions, or did anyone figure this out yet? Thanks in advance.

I have been having the same problem but while searching the web I found that your bluetooth needs to be on (and i think also your wifi, but mainly bluetooth) right click on desktop and you should see the options for importing are no longer gray, worked for me on Mojave Macbook Air

Not working for me. BT is on on both devices (actually Mac Air, iPhone and iPad too), but this doesn't work.

Apple support could kindly reply and explain / provide a solution???????!!!!!
