Mac Pro 5.1 and Mojave

I have all but given up on installing Mojave on my Mac Pro 5.1.

It appears to install but hangs and dosen't restart. A forced shut down leads to a black screen, Alt gets me to the Boot Disc selection screen and I can see 10.13.6 on one disk and Mojave on the other.

Both discs show on the desk top and I can even look through the folders etc on the Mojave disk.

So far I have tried -

Upgrading from 10.13

Upgrading from 10.13.6

A complete fresh install of 10.13.6 and upgrading

Erase disc and direct install of 10.14

All with the same result. I have even tried turning of SIP. (csrutil disable) but nothing seems to leave me with a bootable copy of Mojave.

Any ideas would be welcomed.

OK, I seem to have solved this problem.

The GTX 680 Mac Edition in my system is indeed Metal / Mojave compatible, and Mojave was actually

running I just couldn't see it!

It seems that either the boot rom upgrade or Mojave its self does not like VGA output. I can run in

High Sierra using the same card on VGA with no problem but to use Mojave I have to use a DVI - DVI D cable.
