MacBook Pro A1502 firmware password

In our company we have lots of MacBooks for our staff. One of the older ones has had a firmware password applied by an employee that has since left. I understand that a Mac service centre can reset this so we can install a fresh OS?

If that's the case, what do I need to take to the Apple Store?

Can I wait whilst it's carried out?

Is there a cost - if so how much?

"Bring your Mac to the appointment, and bring your original receipt or invoice as proof of purchase."

The procedure doesn't take long, so if you made an appointment can probably be done while you wait.
