On/Off Togle Switches on Lock Screen

When I tap on my new iPhone XS Max, in the upper right hand corner under the battery strength /Wi-Fi strength/cellular signal strength....after its been unlocked via Face ID, two “on/off” switches appear (one on top of the other), this is still on the lock/unlock screen. These on/off switches are the same as the ones in “settings” when you toggle on/off different items.

Can anyone tell me what they‘re for please?
