How eject Garmin?

To properly update Garmin maps, I need to install software (which I did), then eject Garmin, then re-place Garmin for Part II of map installation. However, the MacBookAir OS Sierra 10.12.6, "eject" is grayed out. I can't find any way, including right clicking (which brings up a menu EXcluding an "eject") or anything on the net.

If I remove Garmin without ejecting, I may, they say, lose all information on it.

No. Control click did not work. I had already contacted Garmin, before I came to Apple support and they told me to move the Volume icon into the trash and eject Garmin before removing the UB cable. Thing is, there WAS no volume icon except on the device itself. No volume anywhere in Garmin app. or in Garmin Express app.

Garmin sites did give similar advice about ejecting Garmin first, and there are many similar questions like mine online, but none of them seem satisfied with their responses.

What I ended up doing was just removing the cable without ejecting first, despite warnings that I could lose information from the device. I have not lost anything, except maybe for Garmin designers.

Thanks for responding though. I appreciate it.
