Well, we are lacking a lot of details. Examples:

  • "iMessage can not activate" ... where?
    • On your iPhone?
    • On a different Apple device?
  • Why is there an ambiguity about your iPhone's telephone number?
    • Did you have some different number in the past?
    • Are you attempting to use two telephone numbers? (Don't do that)


We need many more details.


Anyway, try removing the old number and then adding the new one.

Did you go through the “Set up your phone number” steps in the article I attached in my second post, that explains how to add your phone number to iMessage?


Of course, if this is a brand new iPhone being introduced to iMessage for the first time, once you sign in with your Apple ID (that was never associated with a different phone number), the association should be automatic.

iMessage won’t activate on my iPhone. I didn’t have older number. I m using my number for long time. First time I bought iPhone I had this number.

No I m not attempting to use two telephone numbers. Please help me! I want to activate my iMessage and add my mobile number on the settings where it writes “name, telephones numbers, email”
