How do I fix my payment option when I know my information is correct?

My payment information is correct and I have used the same card for a few months now on this iPhone. Now all of a sudden I can’t download apps and I’m being told I need to verify my payment method before I can continue. They are free apps. So please help!

Did you check, if you'll have to add anything to your payment info?

Change or remove your Apple ID payment information - Apple Support


Even if your apps are free, your payment info has to be complete and correct.

Also your balance has to be payed, if there are any pending payments.
