Family Sharing & iCloud Photos

Greetings,

I recently set up Family Sharing and invited my wife with her new apple id. After it was all set up, I noticed that on my phone it says there are 6,000+ photos on the cloud but on my wife's phone it says only a bit over 1,600 photos. Since we share the 200GB plan, I had assumed we'd all have access to the same photos. I'm not as interested in photos myself, but she is. If she doesn't have access to all of them photos, I'll be in trouble! I have an iPhone 7 and she has an iPhone 8 Plus, if that is relevant. We're both updated to the latest iOS as well.

No, that's not one of the things Family Sharing does. The only specifically photo-related things Family Sharing offers is a shared album into which you can place photos and from which other family members can copy them (at reduced resolution).

Your iCloud Photo Library and your wife's iCloud Photo Library remain separate. The space they take up comes from the 200GB common storage pool.
