Why does this red glitch keep popping up on to my screen

Thanks for using Apple Support Communites! I see you have some questions about your MacBook and how you keep seeing this red pixelation on the side of the screen. I'd like to help out.

Resetting the SMC and NVRAM can sometimes help with display issues. Try performing both, and see if the display issues persist.

Here's how to reset the SMC: How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac
Here's how to reset the NVRAM: Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac

If you're still having issues, see if you can isolate to this happening only when launching certain applications as that may help determine if the issue could be caused by third-party software.
