Touch sensitivity lost on ipad pro

I recently bought an ipad pro 9.7. I am dismayed to find that there is no pressure sensitivity on my music apps As there is on the iphone versions. Both Garageband and iMashine 2 have the same issue. After reading on the forums, it appearently was taken away in an update some time last year. Why?!

Will this also happen with drawing apps? Should I not even buy an apple pencil? Can this be remedied in iOS update? One of the main reasons I bought an ipad instead of a hardware controller drum pad is because of the velocity sensitivity on ipad. Now I feel like I got a bait and switch pulled on me and i regret waiting and saving for this ipad Instead of the controller I was going to buy with that money.

I am frustrated, disappointed and angry! Please change it back!
