iOS 12: Visual on the screen impossible to check Restrictions which were applied through the MDM protocol.
Hello, everyone. I have some issue with Restrictions which were requested through the MDM protocol to apply the iOS 12. There is no visual verification that they applied to the device, but if you want to use them, the device forbid.
On the iOS 12, some settings from Restrictions (such settings are present on the iOS 11.4.1) moved to Screen time.
Now on the iOS 12 there is no such setting as Restrictions.
For the example:
I used this service to install profile on the device: https://meraki.cisco.com/solutions/mobile-device-management
Prepare two real devices with different OS versions: iOS 11.4.1 and iOS 12, in my case iPhone 6 iOS 12, iPhone 7 iOS 11.4.1
Go to this service https://meraki.cisco.com/solutions/mobile-device-management
and install the profile to both devices.
Go to profile and add Restrictions sections and Uncheck such settings or apps ( Allow camera, Allow AirDrop) and apply to the devices.
iOS 11.4.1:
Profile got restrictions and displayed them in the profile.
Navigate to the General -> Restrictions,
Camera, FaceTime, AirDrop are disabled and toggle state has turned off. Really they work.
iOS 12.0.1:
Profile got restrictions and displayed them in the profile.
There are no settings Restrictions on the device.
They are moved to Screen Time -> Content & Privacy -> Allowed Apps. Navigate there.
Camera, FaceTime, AirDrop are enabled and toggle state has turned on. For the user is not clear to understand what happened.
Maybe someone knows about this.
Thanks.
