transferring photos from mac to mobile

Try as I might, I can not arrange photos to my discretion when I transfer them to my iPhone or iPad from iTunes on my Mac. I've tried numbering them the way I want them viewed and I've tried to change the capture time in Photoshop... to no avail.

I know it's possible to organize images on your mobile device when they are in a created folder, but it appears it's impossible to customize their arrangement when transferred from a Mac.

Does anyone know if it's possible to do what I'm attempting?

OK, I figured out a way to custom-organize photos when transferred from a Mac via iTunes, but it's a bit complicated, and maybe not worth the trouble.

1. Export the images from Lightroom without Metadata, sorted numerically with the desired order. Even so, the creation date seems to remain, which is the problem 'cause that's how iOS sorts them

2. Import these new JPG's into Photoshop and then export them as PDF's

3. Re-import the PDF's into PS then save them as JPG's.

4. Sync these new JPG's with the phone/ipad via iTunes and they will be in the desired order.

...whew!
