Help with Adobe Flash Player pop-up

I might be a victim of the Adobe Flash Player pop up scam. MacKeeper is telling me I need to pay them more through ZoomSupport (a subsidiary of them) to clean out the damage done from Flash Player Pop Up fake update! Although, they did not find it and I had to tell them I did have a pop up and did load it.

Can I fix by myself?

Is ZoomSupport legitimate for asking me for money to repair my iMac? I am a survivor of Severe, Domestic Violence and live on $200.0/month, trying to rebuild my LIFE! I am trying to get back to work! Now this happens! I do not have the $283.20 they want to fix what they say is infecting my computer from the FlashPlayer scam! I paid only $250 for this refurbished iMac from PC's for People, low income! That is less than what they want to fix this issue!

Do I NEED them to FIX this?

Is there anyone out there who will have pity on me and try to help me? I just feel terrible!

I never really had problems AFTER the install FP from PopUp, just yesterday! But ZoomSupport is still IN MY COMPUTER NOW, waiting for me to find the money to pay them to fix it!!! I am scared, obviously! Before I loaded the FlashPlayer, the only problem I had was the spinning rainbow wheel! And I could clear that up, but it would come back if I had many tabs open! I don't see how the Flash Player was affecting anything!

Please, someone help! I am nervous about keeping my computer open with ZOOMSUPPORT, because they are asking me for money, I do not have!

Never download Flash Player update from a pop-up, they are bogus installers that will install malware. Only download Flash Payer either from the Official Adobe Website or from within System Preferences > Flash Player > Check for Updates.

ZoomSupport is malware, do to pay them anything or respond to any messages.

Force Quit Safari ( command + option + esc keys). Then restart Safari holding the Shift key. If you still have problems Empty Caches (Safari menu > Preferences > Privacy > Remove all website data. (This will also remove history if you do not want to remove History open Safari Preferences > Advanced and check mark “Show Develop Menu” then choose “Empty Caches” from Develop Menu ).

Then go to Safari Preferences > Extensions and check there. If there is an extension delete it.

If the problem persists then download and run Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes was developed by one of our own colleagues here in ASC and is about the most proven anti-malware software for Mac.

Have you downloaded software suggested by ZoomSupport or are you just in contact wit them via Safari?

If you downloaded software, you should erase and reformat your hard drive, then restore your computer from a backup made prior to when you allowed them access. Change your passwords and other critical information also. You don't know what software might have been installed. If you paid them by credit card, contact the credit card company, and close out the credit card.

Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the OS.
