Audiobooks sync is broken

I have been using itunes to listen to audiobooks forever. Typically, I rip a CD, convert from music to audiobook format, create a playlist for the book, and sync to my phone. Today, that is broken. Now instead of a playlist in the Books app library, I have a pile of files that look like separate disks. However, every one of them is shows the author's name in the "book" below the headphones, the title of one of the books is bolded below, and below that is the author and title of the other book. See below. Also, it doesn't matter which "book" I choose, they all play the same file. Obviously something is corrupted. I have tried restarting Books and my phone, but nothing changes. Ideas?
